A retrospective review of 20 patients who had undergone a peroneal regrooving surgical technique for chronic subluxing peroneal tendons was conducted. The design of the study was based subjectively on a questionnaire completed by the patients and objectively on a physical examination of all the patients included in the study. The authors present the technique and emphasize the importance of preoperative assessment in predicting the results that should reasonably be expected by the patient, especially in the presence of any peroneal tendon pathology.
