After amputation. Rehabilitation of the diabetic amputee

Withington Hospital, Manchester, England.

Rehabilitation should address the physical and psychological scars following ablative surgery and help the amputee plan for the future. Collaboration is required between the surgical team, the rehabilitation team, and social services. Issues of particular concern to the amputee with diabetes are discussed.
