JAPMA Online SUBSCRIBER HELP & SERVICES:
Frequently Asked Questions
about Individual (Non-Member) Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.

  3. Why should I get an Individual (Non-Member) subscription?

Individual (Non-Member) Subscribers have access to:
Tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full-text display, PDFs, links to MEDLINE, and the advantage of having password access to JAPMA Online from any computer connected to the Internet.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

If your institution has a paper subscription, it is eligible to have an electronic version of the journal as well. As of January 2005, online-only subscriptions are also available. You will automatically have access to tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full-text display, PDFs, and links to MEDLINE. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

If you would like to have an Institutional Subscription, please contact your local librarian.

  5. Will I still be able to get the paper version? And for how long?

Yes, individuals and institutions with print subscriptions will continue to be able to receive the paper version for the foreseeable future.

  6. Who is eligible for an Individual (Non-Member) and a Member Subscription?

Individual (Non-Member) Subscriptions are available to individuals, providing them with paper and electronic versions of the journal. As of January 2005, online-only subscriptions are also available. APMA members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to JAPMA, providing them with paper and electronic versions of the journal. Members and non-members may also have access to JAPMA Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member and Individual Subscriptions. The special member and individual services are not available to institutional subscribers, and full-text access from off of the institution's network (e.g., home access) is not available.

  7. How can I access JAPMA Online if I am not an APMA member and I don't have access through an Institutional Subscription?

If you are eligible for APMA membership, you can become a member and receive the print and online editions of JAPMA as a membership benefit. If you are not eligible for APMA membership, you may purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription, which provides access to the electronic version. As of January 2005, an online-only subscription is also available. (Subscriptions are unavailable to non-members who are eligible for membership.) Without a subscription you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full-text searching (without full-text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

  8. How do I become a member of APMA?

Information about APMA membership is available from the APMA.
